Boy Meets Girl: Merging Styles

It's a Sunday night and I am watching my boyfriend pack up his things to fly out in the morning for the work week. I should probably wait & blog later, but I'm so excited about this blog... I couldn't wait. Speaking of the bf, I have been working with a wonderful couple the past few months and I wanted to share our progress so far. They have been such a pleasure to work with & I love seeing all the changes week by week.
A few years ago, as a designer with Ethan Allen, I designed Hunter's living room. At the time, I transformed a drab & bland space into a swank bachelor pad using a cognac leather sectional, sage green walls, textural fabrics, rattan dining chairs, charcoal black furniture and metallic accessories. And now... it is on it's way to feeling more like a home for both Hunter & Nicole. We've added colorful fabrics, neat lighting, a fresh wall color, a lattice patterned dining room rug, framed photography & fun accessories. Check it out so far! I can't wait to post more pics :)

High Point Market 2012

I am back from High Point, NC and I loved my experience! I was there for a short 2 days, but we packed in each day to the max in order to see as much as possible. Here is just a sneak peek of some of the home furnishings that caught my eye. There were so many great lines of accessories, lighting, artwork, rugs and furniture. Hope you enjoy!

Shades of Gray

Ok, I was meaning to start a 6 day Color Story post today, but I got a little off track. So, I will get to that next week instead. This weekend I painted my bedroom, and because I am so excited about the progress.... I had to share!! I will definitely be posting more pictures as soon as I add everything back into the room.

Ok, there is still LOTS to do, but these are my new BM, Chelsea Gray walls. It's actually Chelsea Gray, lightened 25%, but this picture was taken at night, so it looks darker.

This is a more realistic picture of what the walls actually look like. Loving it!!

Home Trends

Each season brings a new point of view. As influences & inspiration change, creating a room can be a simple update in color; or total revise on texture and pattern. Check out the lattice pattern, a trend that is destined to become a keeper.

It's a world of LATTICE! Inspired by the ornamental Jali screens found in masterpieces like the Taj Mahal, these graphic patterns have a modern punch with a stamp of historic authenticity.

PS. I am looking forward to next week's blog because I will be starting a 6 day, Power Of Color, series! It will be 6 days of Color, Color, Color. What color represents and symbolizes, a few fun history facts and of course, color boards. Get ready! Here are my color categories...
1. CODE RED
2. ORANGE CRUSH
3. YELLOW FEVER
4. GO GREEN
5. COOL BLUE
6. ULTRA VIOLET
